After the successful joining of three state inspectorates to the Information System for Inspection Supervision, E-inspector, from next month all other inspectorates, for which the Inspection Council of the Republic of North Macedonia is responsible, will join this system, which will complete the project for full digitization of inspections.
This was announced at today’s press briefing, which was held by the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of good governance policies, Slavica Grkovska, the President of the Inspection Council, Daniela Rendevska, the Director of the State Labor Inspectorate, Vesna Tomovska, and the Director of the State Sanitary and health inspectorate, Renata Mladenovska.
Bearing in mind that one of the primary goals of the digitization of these processes is the strengthening of anti-corruption mechanisms, Deputy Prime Minister Grkovska emphasized that inspectors are the face of the institution, because they are in daily contact with citizens, and in that direction, increasing control and greater efficiency and effectiveness in operations, shortening the time for performing inspections and greater transparency is important for strengthening the integrity of officials, for individualizing responsibility, but also for improving the general perception of corruption at all levels.
The President of the Inspection Council, Daniela Rendevska, expressed satisfaction that the pilot project for the modernization of inspection services, which began in 2021 with the support of USAID, and which included the State Market Inspectorate, the State Labor Inspectorate and the State Administrative Inspectorate, continued in the direction of development of this system and other inspectorates. With the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, from the end of March 2024, all inspectorates under the authority of the Inspection Council will be part of E-inspector.
In addition, this project will continue towards full digitization of the inspection procedure, that is, the remaining 12 inspection services, which are currently organized as internal organizational units within the bodies of the state administration, will be subject to inclusion in the electronic system, depending on the final outcome of the comprehensive process of reorganization and optimization of the public administration, which also includes the inspection services.
At the briefing, information was shared about the benefits of the digitalization of inspections and the experiences of the inspectorates in their daily work through this information system, which enables a reduction in the number of inspections and controls, fair access to law-abiding subjects, and electronic acquisition of all necessary data. , shortening the time of inspection, as well as joint and coordinated inspections by several inspection services at the same time.
